Larry Rice, Ed.D.

Dr. Larry Rice is co-founder of Northern Compass Consulting LLC, which supports clients in government and commercial industries through training, assessments, and research services. He also serves on the board of the Broward College Foundation.

Dr. Rice brings over 30 years of higher education experience to his consulting work, having served in various roles including professor, dean, and vice president. Prior to his consulting activities, he served seven years as president of Johnson & Wales University. During his tenure, the university's North Miami campus was ranked number one for diversity in the South and third nationally in the Wall Street Journal/Time Higher Education College Rankings. 

Dr. Rice is also recognized for his work in developing mentoring programs for high school students and facilitating summer enrichment programs for elementary and middle school students. He has authored and co-authored several published works, including articles in the Journal of Learning in Higher Education and the Journal of Tourism Insights. Dr. Rice has also conducted assessments and evaluations for the New England Commission of Higher Education for over seven years. In addition, he advises nonprofit leaders in achieving their strategic planning goals across numerous grassroots organizations, colleges, and foundations.
