Helios Education Foundation awards $400,000 grant to Tucson Values Teachers

TUCSON, Ariz. — Helios Education Foundation has awarded a $400,000 grant to Tucson Values Teachers (TVT) to bolster its efforts in supporting educators across Southern Arizona. This significant investment underscores Helios’ commitment to fostering excellence in education by empowering and celebrating teachers.

This grant will continue supporting TVT's efforts in Southern Arizona to raise public awareness of the importance of a strong teacher workforce and build public will to support and advocate for teachers. New TVT programs over the next three years include the creation of a digital teacher platform for collaboration and a scholarship for high school seniors who plan to major in education.

The grant will enable TVT to expand its initiatives over a three-year period aimed at addressing teacher retention, recognition, and professional development. Specific programs include the continuation of teacher appreciation campaigns, the expansion of professional learning opportunities, and increased access to classroom resources for educators via school supply drives.

“Helios Education Foundation is proud to support Tucson Values Teachers in their mission to uplift and empower educators in Southern Arizona," said Paul J. Luna, President and CEO of Helios Education Foundation. "Teachers are the cornerstone of educational success, and this grant reflects our ongoing commitment to providing the resources, recognition, and support they need to thrive."

Since its inception, TVT has been dedicated to uplifting the teaching profession through partnerships, advocacy, and direct support for educators. This new funding from Helios Education Foundation will amplify TVT’s impact and help address the critical challenges faced by teachers in Southern Arizona.

“We are incredibly grateful to Helios Education Foundation for this generous grant,” said Dr. Teresa Hill, Chief Executive Officer of Tucson Values Teachers. “With this support, we can deepen our commitment to great educators, providing them with the tools and recognition they deserve, empowering them to ensure student success in our community.”
