Responding to unprecedented needs thrust upon our communities due to the COVID-19 virus, Helios Education Foundation is providing a total of $650,000 in emergency response funding to local United Way chapters and foundations serving communities in Arizona and Florida.

Leveraging their expertise in supporting families and individuals in time of need, local United Way chapters have taken the lead in establishing collaborative funds designed to respond to their communities’ most pressing needs. We are proud to work with Valley of the Sun United Way in Arizona and United Way Miami-Dade, Heart of Florida United Way, and United Way Suncoast to strengthen the communities we serve amid this evolving crisis.

Additionally, local community foundations in both Arizona and Florida have established COVID-19 response funds intended to support local non-profits given the anticipated surge for services.  Grant funds support the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona and the Arizona Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and the Miami Foundation. The health and sustainability of local nonprofits is critical amid evolving community need.

Helios Education Foundation and our partners are focused on supporting students and their families during these challenging times.  “Empowering partners to respond to local need with the resources necessary to assure swift action will not only lead us through this crisis, it will strengthen communities and our nation,” said Vince Roig, Founding Chairman, Helios Education Foundation.
