Helios Education Foundation joins the collective grieving of the Nation. This weekend, Congressman John Lewis, a lifetime civil rights advocate, public servant, and inspiration to us all passed away. But his legacy will always be with us.
Mr. Lewis’s life, and the way in which he lived it - getting into “good trouble” - serves as a reminder to us all that often, we have to take a stance, a bold stance, for what is right and just. Regardless of the immediate consequence, we must always remember fighting for equity for those who may not have the same opportunities as others is the way to a more prosperous, equitable, and ultimately, socially just society.
May we always remember Mr. Lewis’s legacy in the times we must stand boldly for what is right.
