President's Message

<< Back to Latest

The new year is off to an exciting and momentous start.  We’ve just celebrated the inauguration of a new Presidential Administration which includes our first female, African-American, and Asian-American Vice President.  We also are celebrating the distribution of a vaccine for COVID-19 which hopefully will help slow the spread and help ensure a safer and healthier community.

On a more personal note, Helios is celebrating the completion of the Helios Education Campus.  The Campus serves as the administrative offices of the Foundation’s Arizona staff as well as houses the offices of four of our education partners – College Success Arizona, Expect More Arizona, Teach for America – Phoenix, and Achieve60AZ.  The Campus also houses the Vince Roig Convening Center which will allow for us to host education-related events and convenings for up to 200 people.

Our goal is for the Campus to bring together key educational partners and community leaders to strengthen Helios’ core mission: to enrich the lives of individuals in Arizona and Florida by creating opportunities for success in postsecondary education.

While the Campus is complete and some Helios staff are working on the Campus, it is not open to the public due to the safety concerns of COVID-19.  Helios is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our employees, our partners, and the community and thus is limiting visits to the Campus.

We will continue to communicate about the opening of the Campus and the Vince Roig Convening Center but, in the meantime, I invite you to visit our website and take a virtual tour.  (will provide link)

I am hopeful that we will be able to resume community events and in-person meetings soon, but until then, please stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Paul J. Luna
