The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics recently recognized 230 programs across the country as Bright Spots for investing in key education priorities affecting the Hispanic community.  Among the 230 programs, 10 are from Arizona and 10 are from Florida.  Five of the Arizona programs are partners of Helios Education Foundation.

“Helios is thrilled to see work that is being done in Arizona and Florida receive national attention and be recognized as a Bright Spot by the White House,” said Paul J. Luna, President and CEO.  “These programs are helping to close the Latino student achievement gap in Arizona and Florida and ensure more Latino students are on the path toward success in college and career.”

As Latinos represent the fastest growing segment of our country’s population, they will ultimately make up a large portion of the future workforce. Ensuring that Latino students have access to quality education across the continuum and closing the Latino student achievement gap will better prepare these students for success in college and career and help them become contributors to vibrant economies.
