With the 2018 election now over, Arizona’s elected officials are gearing up for another session at the state legislature. To educate lawmakers about the value of high-quality early childhood education, a group of Arizona Grantmakers Forum members known as the Arizona Early Childhood Funders Collaborative launched a new initiative this fall – Born to Learn AZ.
The collaborative, which includes Helios Education Foundation, is dedicated to exchanging and linking knowledge, research and resources to focus statewide attention on a seamless continuum of quality early childhood services that strengthen Arizona’s young children, families and communities. Born to Learn AZ is the beginning of what we hope will be an evolving project to advance the group’s goals.
By boosting awareness about the benefits of early learning, the collaborative will develop champions at the state Capitol and among business, community and faith leaders who can carry the Born to Learn AZ message: High-quality early childhood education makes the difference.
Specifically, the collaborative is sharing data-backed resources with lawmakers and inviting them to tour a high-quality early childhood facility or home program where they can see the value of quality early learning in action.
Born to Learn AZ builds on and complements the work of the Arizona Early Childhood Alliance, Expect More Arizona and similar Arizona-based efforts that highlight the value of quality early learning.
