Recently, Expect More Arizona and the Center for the Future of Arizona launched the Arizona Education Progress Meter which represents key milestones on the path to improving educational opportunities and outcomes for all Arizonans.
The progress meter utilizes the most current data available to provide a high level overview of how Arizona is performing on select educational data points such as postsecondary degree attainment, high school graduation and third-grade reading. There is both state level as well as county level data available.
As an organization focused on creating opportunities for individuals to succeed in postsecondary education, Helios recognizes the importance of accurate data in helping to understand the realities of our current educational performance as well as to set goals for improvement. The data points included in the Progress Meter are some of the most important indicators of educational priority for Arizona.
“The Arizona Education Progress Meter is a great tool for our state to understand where we currently are and to set goals to improve educational achievement across the continuum,” said Paul Perrault, Vice President of Research and Evaluation, Helios Education Foundation. “We join with the other government agencies, nonprofits, education and business groups who are endorsing these metrics and utilizing them as we collectively work toward a shared vision for education in Arizona.”
