Opening the Door to Postsecondary Opportunities

Helios Education Foundation is committed to increasing postsecondary opportunities for individuals in Arizona and Florida. Our work in Early Childhood Education and the Transition Years is meant to help ensure more students are prepared to succeed in postsecondary programs. By removing barriers and fostering a college-going culture across the education continuum we hope to inspire and empower more Arizona and Florida youth to go on to complete postsecondary education.

Within Postsecondary Scholarships, the Foundation is focused on:

  • Increasing Access to Postsecondary Education for Underserved Populations
We are working to increase the postsecondary success of underserved populations including first-generation, minority and rural students by removing barriers and increasing access through financial scholarships and other supportive services.
  • Creating a Pipeline of Students and Educators Focused on STEM Education
We are working to increase the pipeline of STEM professionals by supporting students, including underserved populations, in their pursuit of degrees or career and technical education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. Special emphasis is placed on cultivating a pipeline of middle and high school educators specialized in the STEM content areas.
  • Cultivating Early Childhood Education Teachers and Practitioners
We seek to increase the supply of specialized teachers and practitioners by supporting students in their pursuit of degrees or training within Early Childhood Education. Emphasis is placed on increasing knowledge and education as it relates to emergent literacy and language acquisition.
