Maria Sastre Named One of the 50 Most Powerful Latinas by Fortune Magazine

Maria Sastre, Helios Education Foundation Board Member and President and Chief Operating Officer of Signature Flight Support, was named one of the 50 most powerful Latinas by Fortune Magazine.


The Association of Latino Professionals for America compiled the list of the 50 most powerful Latinas with an emphasis on four criteria: the size and importance of the woman’s business in the global economy, the health and direction of the business, the arc of the woman’s career and her social and cultural influence. Women named to the list represent leaders of public and private organizations running global organizations as well as start-up companies successfully scaled into middle market.  


Maria Sastre is a leader in business and philanthropy. Prior to her role at Signature Flight Support, she served Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises as VP and United Airlines as VP of Worldwide Customer Satisfaction. She is also an experienced public and private corporate board director and has served on the boards of Helios Education Foundation, Darden Restaurants, Publix Supermarkets, Laidlaw International and various non-profit organizations in Miami.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Sastre holds an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Miami Dade College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from New York Institute of Technology.
