$10 Million Gift Established Helio-ACSF Scholars Fund In Arizona
Through a $10 million grant to the Arizona Community Scholarship Foundation, Helios Education Foundation is creating opportunities for Arizona students to remove the barriers to postsecondary opportunities. The largest investment in the Foundation’s history to date, Helios announced the grant at the opening of its Phoenix headquarters in May 2006.
The grant established the Helios-ACSF Scholars Fund which will provide scholarships and mentoring to 80 low-income students per year. “We are thrilled to be in a position to make a positive impact on the education landscape in Arizona,” said Vince Roig, Chairman and CEO of Helios Education Foundation.
"The impact of Helios Education Foundation is already being seen across Arizona," said Don Budinger, Chairman of the Board of the Arizona College Scholarship Foundation. "This grant is going to make an enormous difference in the lives of our scholarship recipients, our future workforce, our economy and, ultimately, in the quality of life for all Arizonans. This is precisely the kind of foundation philanthropy that has long-term, far-reaching positive effects on our state.”
