Early Childhood Education

Investing in the Success of Young Children

The ages from birth to five are the most critical in the growth and development of young children. From early brain development to pre-kindergarten, these earliest years lay the foundation for future academic success. Exposing children to positive learning environments and high quality teachers contributes to their ability to learn and succeed in school and life.

With Early Childhood Education as a priority, Helios Education Foundation is focused on:

  • Improving Early Childhood Education Teacher Quality
We are working to increase the skills and education of early childhood education teachers and practitioners as it relates to literacy and language acquisition while providing them with practical ways to integrate their knowledge into the early learning setting.
  • Integrating Emergent Literacy and Language Curriculum into Postsecondary Programs
We seek to improve the skills and knowledge of teachers and practitioners by increasing the integration of literacy and language acquisition curriculum into early childhood education and related degree programs as well as increasing articulation of coursework between community college and university early childhood education programs.
  • Bridging Early Childhood and K-3 Education
We are helping young children successfully transition between early childhood programs and K-3 education by fostering improved collaboration, professional development and curriculum alignment amongst practitioners and teachers.
